Jay managed a media training session for key leaders and staff at the Melbourne Rebels. During a week where our club was in the middle of a media firestorm, Jay facilitated an outstanding session which provided quality advice. Jay was able to understand the group quickly, build trust and educate on strategies for the different types of media mediums we were exposed to.
Jay does not talk out of a text book, and he has the ability to articulate his vast experiences and provide excellent examples of media situations that related to other sports. Jay educated the group on body language, what makes you comfortable, preparation, importance of the truth, knowledge and conversation. The Melbourne Rebels players took away some key strategies around changing the direction of the conversation, utilising praise to their peers and the media, being authentic and damage minimisation.
Reece Hodge attended Jay’s media session and provided feedback that he felt very confident the following day at a high pressured press conference before a crucial game at a time when the media wanted to focus on the Club’s ongoing existence.
I recommend Jay extremely highly. He listens well, thinks on his feet and provides a sense of purpose and calmness to those that he is talking to. I look forward to exposing Jay to more members of our team and continuing to up skill the leadership group and staff.
Bad Producer Productions are an absolute pleasure to deal with. Professional, knowledgeable, easygoing and with a sense of fun they make the difficult easy. Within minutes their passion shines through and you won’t be left disappointed as they happily go the extra mile.
Jay has become a regular feature of our media training courses for scientists. Scientists assume that there’s no room for them in talk radio. Jay gently but firmly puts them on the right track, demonstrating they do have stories that work for radio. His curiosity and his passion for radio shine through.
And he’s got a great radio voice. You could listen to him all day.
Victoria’s writers have so many stories to tell. As the peak body for writers and writing, we are thrilled to support The Garret as the newest addition to our state’s literary culture.
The podcast will play a new and exciting role in helping to highlight and celebrate some of the diverse and exciting literary talent in Victoria (and beyond).
The State Library has always been the keeper of Victoria’s stories and we are committed to supporting Victorian creators in a range of ways. The Garret is a chance for us to collaborate with fellow arts and education organisations in bringing the insights of these talented storytellers to our local communities.
The Garret is a wonderful opportunity to hear from amazing authors about their creative process. We hope that this series will inspire new stories from writers at all levels, and that their work will contribute to Victoria’s thriving literary culture.
The bad producers have been an incredible partner throughout the Game Changers: Radio project. There is no way the idea would have seen the light of day, let alone become such a success, without their drive and passion.
The thing I love most about working with Jay and Astrid is that they care so much about the quality of the product, it feels like I’m in a true partnership with them.
Jay was a great facilitator bringing energy and approachability to the media training sessions. For those wanting to understand what drives the media and how stories are developed Jay has the expertise.
